Most of the instances of crude oil theft faced by PT Pertamina EP in South Sumatra have yet to be taken to court, says PT Pertamina EP spokesman Agus Amperianto.

“There are 540 cases from January to July and most of them haven’t been processed,” Agus said, urging the police to be more serious in handling the cases, which occurred in Musi Banyuasin, Prabumulih, Muara Enim, and Palembang.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the police found 28 tons of Pertamina’s crude oil on Jl. Gubernur H. Bastari in Jakabaring.

“We came to the scene and found a truck and rubber hoses,” First. Insp. Iwan Gunawan of the Seberang Ulu Police Precinct, said, adding the case was still under his team’s investigation.
